I just love this time of the year. Am on the lookout for the first signs of fall. The first yellow, orange & red.
My favorite subject is the maple in the front yard. It is really trying to hold on to its greens. The lines in the leaves are like someone painted them. They are trying hard to hold on, but there’s no stopping, it’s turning red.
And every time I pass it I have to look at it and more than often snap a quick picture. Mostly just with the iPhone, but this week I brought out the camera several times.
Some parts of the leaves are still green, like they’re not ready to turn their colors yet. Maybe the tree knows what is next? That it has to let go of all of its leaves. That it is not just the turning of the colors? Haven’t asked it that yet, might be too much of a confrontation 😉 But boy, do I love capturing its struggle in camera, as it changes every day now.
Nature is so powerful, so strong. Capturing its essence is not easy – your work becomes a dance with light and the weather. It takes you to a place within yourself.
