Swooshing over the fields of Pocosin Wildlife refuge. Huge flocks of Red-winged Blackbirds. Love to watch them go up and down showing their elegant dance. The beginning of that dance starts with a very low sound and then they fly away all together. At some point they flew right over us. They would make you hear the air moving. So special.

They all landed in a tree and then with a swoosh went away again. Really, when I made the picture below I didn’t realize the coming and going of the flock that much. But when editing, I noticed it. It totally made this picture. They are such cool birds with their stylish dance moves.

  1. Hier komen ook vogels over. Ik denk dat het merels zijn. Van de week was er een roofvogel bij.
