Birds of a different feather

While walking in the yard this afternoon I found a feather, a complete bird’s nest that fell out of a tree after yesterday’s rain and a little green egg. All found at a different spot throughout the yard. The egg had a whole in it and was empty. Poor mama bird. So I’m sure feather, nest and egg, don’t belong together, but they sure looked good in the blue salvia. A little like birds of a different feather might still go together. At least it was very picture worthy to me. 🙂

I once had a sparrow alight upon my shoulder for a moment while I was hoeing in a village garden, and I felt that I was more distinguished by that circumstance than I should have been by any epaulet I could have worn.
