Wings

Beauty is not how you wear your feathers. It’s how you use your wings.

As if the swan knew I adore swans when their wings are arched like this. I think swans are always very graceful, but with the wings up like this it’s like they are feathered ballet swimmers. So beautiful. The reflection on the water was like if a spotlight was beaming on the graceful one. It made for soft white silhouette ripples fading away in the water. It’s a good thing I was alone at the pond at Duke Gardens as I was oooh-ing and aaah-ing out loud while it was performing its ballet act. It swam circles and figure eights just for me. Or….maybe the other swan that was a bit further on the lake, that could be it too. 😉 Anyways I enjoyed the show and felt like giving a standing ovation when it was time for me to leave. Just beautiful.
