Never waste any amount of time doing anything important when there is a sunset outside that you should be sitting under.

It was the first day of my new journey, my birthday. A new, 365 days long, journey around the sun. So what better way to spend my new year under that same setting sun. Bringing, of course, my camera along to try and capture the colors and memory.
I always enjoy the sunsets at Jordan lake. It’s a great place to watch the sun go down. I also like the roots of the many pine-trees at Jordan lake. They seem to find a way to stay rooted even when lake levels change. Have to admit I love seeing them exposed on dry banks. Jordan lake Summer water levels can be extreme some years. And it’s fascinating to see how their roots grow. Wide and long at times, but also fragile. Very pretty I think. And at sunset even prettier.
While walking along the bank some driftwood piled up near the waterline. All shapes and sorts. Some I bet were pieces from these pine-tree roots. They were in the water and they had that glowing and rapidly changing sunset light on them. As if painted, very delicately. Was glad I was there to see it and capture it, to keep it with me throughout my new year. Day 1 was a success 🙂
The journey of the sun
and moon is predictable.
But yours, is your ultimate art.
