The stars are the jewels of the night, and perchance surpass anything which day has to show.

– Henry David Thoreau

Never had I seen so many stars as in Acadia. It was so dark at the campsite last week that stargazing had to be on your list. Pitch black was the clear sky and was looking forward to see the sky filling up with them after every sunset. First the brightest and then all the little ones coming in to join the night sky party. Even the Milky way came out bright and mysterious. Sweet! Did an attempt to photograph them, but it never looks the same as standing there and seeing it yourself.

Did find and photographed that one big ‘star’ that gave so many shows with various changing beautiful light when going down, almost each evening. I couldn’t get enough of it. Being in these beautiful places and have the prettiest sunsets also? That’s being lucky. Watching stars after that, that’s being lucky and very fortunate.
