One way to open your eyes is to ask yourself, “What if I had never seen this before? What if I knew I would never see it again?”

Last week I saw this flower. I was in a swampy area where this purple flower stood out in all the green surroundings. It was a new one for me. Very pretty I thought. Curled upwards and lavender-ish of color. Not quite blue, but not quite purple either. The plant looked like a clematis but with tiny flowers and liked it a lot.

When I got home I looked it up and I think it is a Swamp Leatherflower.  How about that?  It did fit the place I found it in so it must be that. I liked that it had a list of other names too. Curly Clematis, Curl flower, Curly Virgin’s Bower, Marsh Clematis. All very fitting, but my favorite alias was “Blue-Jasmine”. Loved that name as I do think it really was beautiful enough to deserve the very desirable “Jasmine” badge.  🙂
