I have lately got back to that glorious society called Solitude.

~ Henry David Thoreau

I love photographing solitude in nature. That one subject, standing out. Preferably with golden light.

Mornings and evenings add to the drama of solitude anyways. Warm glows on a subject like that, add to that. Not sure why, but to me it definitely give me that feel.

One bird in a golden hour sky and its reflection makes the solitude more dramatic. And perhaps, at the same time, softer as well. A reflection can have that impact. As if accompanied by a glorious silhouette, it makes solitude even better. Maybe it just does that for photographs….
